"Europe could not only meet its 2020 energy reduction target but "halt energy demand growth in the region completely" by improving energy productivity, McKinsey Global Institute (MGI) says in its latest report. By 2020, the date set by the European Commission to cut energy use in the region by 20%, energy savings equal to twice the electricity used by all EU nations in 2003 could be made using existing technologies, the report said."
