"This report examines Australia’s contribution to research into hydrogen as a future energy carrier and its use in fuel cells through a bibliometric analysis of the published research literature. The study finds that although Australian research is a minor contributor to this fast moving field, Australian researchers can make significant contributions, such as in hydrogen storage materials, carbon capture and storage, and solar-thermal reforming of natural gas. The report also makes a number of recommendations for increased government support for hydrogen energy research and coordination."
