"As the nation's peak engineering body, Engineers Australia has considered Australia's present position with regard to energy and climate policies. Australia will experience climate change impacts regardless of its own policy. Continued reluctance by other nations to act is as great a danger to Australia as its own lack of action. Engineers Australia believes that Australia needs to accept responsibility for reducing its own emissions, and to actively engage the global community to encourage early and decisive action."
