"The Marine Fish Conservation Network has released a report documenting chronic overfishing occurring in U.S. oceans. The report identifies the failure of most regional fishery management councils to set and enforce science-based annual catch limits. Exacerbating the situation, the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) often approves councils’ decisions to continue to overfish".
